A Note from Lex
Ever since the 2004 United States Paralympic Track and Field team returned home from Athens, Greece, my goal has been to stay motivated for the next time around. As the days pass, the time becomes shorter and shorter for our departure to Beijing, China for the 2008 Paralympic Games.
With the help of God, family, and friends, I have accomplished my initial goals that I had set. Now, it's on to bigger and better things. It is important that I bring out the best in Beijing.
What does it take? Let me tell you if you don't know. It takes passion; it takes pain; and it takes every precious minute of each day from now until September 6, 2008. I want that passion; I want that pain; and I want those minutes of my day to be focused on my goal, my goal of being the best long jumper to ever step foot on the runway.
I thank everyone who has ever had anything to do with my life. You are appreciated greatly. Just like our track and field team is united, we are united. We are a team. Together we can accomplish bigger goals that one could not by him or herself.
For those who have helped me out, I ask that you continue to help me in whatever fashion you may. It's not always about monetary support; it's about having faith and confidence in me as well. I need you to believe in me as much as I believe in you. For those who have not supported me or would like to, I urge you to take a look at Lex's Life to learn more about my earlier years. All help and support is needed and wanted. With you on my team, I'll bring out the best in Beijing!
Yours Truly,
Elexis Gillette (a.k.a. Lex)

My prayer is for you and your pain your goals to be completed as you have desire. May God smile upon you richly as you gain the pain of victory already won in Jesus name. Look to the hills from whence cometh your help Master Lex. Great is the day of your victory.

Hello Elexis. Haven’t talked with you in a while. I am very impressed with this web page. I have listened to the complete interview on Those Days. I heard the maturity in your voice. No more little boy. God has His hands all over you and everything you do. My prayer for you in Beijing is that you do the very best that you can. First, pray and ask God to be with you even on the track. Give Him praise and glory. Success is yours, we are cheering you on. Whatever happens, we are proud of you. Calvin, Asha and Rev. Warren says hello and good luck!! Liberty Grove & Hooks Grove are cheering you on also. Love you

Lex,
Wishing you all the best in Beijing. I know that the results this time will be different…Gold You came really close to winning in Athens, but a minor setback in your opening jump hindered that from hapening. Hey man, I wish that I could join you and the team but things did not workout this time around. May the Lord guide you and the team over in Beijing. It is not just about track, but about how you will be used to bring him the glory. I am proud of you and Wes of all the hard work you have done over the years. I believe that it will begin to pay off…starting in Beijing.

Lex-
I was very fortunate to be paired with you our freshman year at ECU. You have been a wonderful friend and an inspiration to many. I have been fortunate to work along side you and hear of all of your comptetions. It is now your time to shine and take the gold. You have worked so hard to get this far and you have trained harder than I have ever seen you train before. There is no stopping you now. We will be praying for you and wishing you the best! Now go show the world what you are made of. Love-Stacy and the family

Wow! I am so impressed with your site and your tenacity. You have inspired me personally today to push a little bit harder with my Transition youth. The name you chose for your site is perfect for you and your mission. Many blessings to you and your family.
