So I was searching around the web and ran across some old articles that were written on me when I was a little younger. Here's one that was written when I was still attending ECU. It's pretty cool. It talks about my first trip to the Paralympics which was in Athens, Greece in 2004.

My name is Elexis Gillette, but feel free to call me Lex. I'm a blind track and field athlete. I compete the long jump and triple jump, and I currently hold the American record in both events for totally blind athletes.
In September 2008, I represented the U.S. in the Paralympic Games in Beijing, China, and became the Paralympic Silver Medalist in the long jump.
